Being organized through Distance Learning, face-to-face courses occur in three instructional periods per semester (from Friday to Sunday), including an intensive one-week period during school holidays, held at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca. A significant portion of the time is dedicated to practical activities, conducted through independent study.
Courses for theoretical subjects, announcements, and course schedules can be accessed on the platform, using a password communicated only to students.
In addition to syllabi, students are provided with video and audio tapes, CDs, and CD-ROMs with exercises and musical examples (dictation, conducting, auditions, etc.).
The system relies on complex systems of predictive, formative, and summative evaluation, using appropriate methods to achieve them. Continuous evaluations, practical and theoretical tests, homework, investigation, and written tests are conducted in all subjects. These can be downloaded from the internet, completed, and sent to the email address of the Distance Learning Department of the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca, at decid@amgd.ro.
Evaluation includes:
– Assessment of student work developed during preparation (projects, portfolio, video or audio tapes with recordings of artistic activities or other musical-educational actions);
– Self-assessments.
Continuous evaluation forms represent 30% of the score for the final evaluation; summative evaluation in the form of an exam (oral, written, or practical, as applicable); the final exam for a subject accounts for 70% and varies from one subject to another.
