Foreign Students

The National Academy of Music “Gheorghe Dima” offers to foreign students (non-EU citizens), Romanian Ethnic Students as well as EU citizens from outside Romania, access to the study programs covered by the educational offer, according to the conditions stipulated in the official tuition methodologies established by the Ministry of Education of Romania, and its own methodology.

 

Thus, Romanian Ethnic Students may occupy budgeted tuition places with scholarships, respectively, budgeted tuition places without scholarships, in study programs taught in Romanian, after taking part in the admission tests, within the limits of the tuition places announced annually by the Romanian Ministry of Education, based on the approval issued by ME. Romanian Ethnic Students from abroad may also apply for tax-tuition places in study programs taught in Romanian, English or through distance learning, the fees in force being similar to those applied to Romanian citizens (ME Order No. 4294/29.06.2017). The documents required for the enrolment of Romanian Ethnic Students will be handed, according to the annual admission calendar, to the International Students Responsible – C.S. III Paula Șandor.

 

Non-EU candidates may enrol, at their own expense, in the undergraduate, master and doctoral programs of the National Academy of Music “Gheorghe Dima”, the fees being established according to Ordinance no. 22/2009 (on the establishment of the minimum amount of tuition fees in foreign currency) and the  decision of the Senate of the National Academy of Music “Gheorghe Dima”. Their admission is conditional on the pre-acceptance of the institution, based on the results obtained at the admission sessions, the proposals being submitted to the DGRIAE, in order to issue tuition approvals. Applicants must provide proof of their language proficiency for the program for which they are applying, by presenting a language certificate (B2 minimum level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Foreign citizens may be enrolled in the Romanian language preparatory year in higher education institutions, in accordance with the legal provisions for the conduct and organization of the Romanian language preparatory year. The documents required for the enrolment of non-EU candidates will be handed to the International Students’ Officer – C.S. III Paula Șandor.

EU candidates or Romanian candidates with pre university/university studies completed abroad can enrol on budgeted places with or without scholarship, at the Bachelor, Master and PhD programs of the National Academy of Music “Gheorghe Dima”, in accordance with the methodology applied to Romanian Candidates. Both EU candidates and Romanian candidates with previous studies completed abroad must submit, in addition to their degree certificates, proof of their recognition/equivalence, issued by the National Centre for the Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas. The certificate of equivalence is issued following the procedure of evaluation of the requested documentation, described on the official website cnred.edu.ro. The documents are sent in electronic format, by e-mail, to the International Students Officer, C.S. III Paula Șandor (paula.sandor@amgd.ro), who will launch the applications on the dedicated platform. Applicants must also provide proof of their proficiency in the language of study for the program for which they are applying, by presenting a language certificate (B2 minimum level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Enrolment for EU citizens or Romanians with studies completed abroad is made directly at the Secretariat of the Faculty for which the candidate has applied and does not require an approval from the Ministry of Education.
