About us

Founded in 2025 through an FDI project, the Centre for Research in Central and East European Music (CRCEEM) is dedicated to the interdisciplinary and transcultural research of the musical repertoire from Central and Eastern Europe, as well as to creating a collaborative network with national and international partners specialized in studies focused on the culture of this vast and diverse region.
Among the activities promoted by the centre are international conferences held in Cluj-Napoca, lectures given by renowned musicologists, publication of its members’ research results, their participation in scientific events in Romania and abroad, as well as editing and publishing manuscript scores belonging to Cluj composers, and organizing recitals featuring significant works from the musical repertoire of this cultural area.
