Controversele tendinţelor contemporane în regia de operă – Lorenzo Ponte (regizor Italia)
The workshop will be based on Mozart and Da Ponte’s Don Giovanni and will be divided into two parts.
The first part will be dedicated to young directors. Starting from their embryonic staging projects, we will begin to reflect together on how and what directing a classical opera can be. What does Don Giovanni tell us today and in Romania?
In the second part of the workshop, I will focus on the singers and we will work on a selection of scenes from the opera. We will investigate different interpretative possibilities, playing with alternating registers, moving from a realism to symbolism. We’ll try to inhabitant different landscapes. It will be like looking the opera and the acting through a magnifying glass to discover something surprising.
